Overview

Georgia is the South reinvented. We’re proud to show the world all the sights and experiences which can only be found here. As the (unofficial) capital of the Southeast, Georgia stands out for how it lives up to expectations—and how it defies them. With big cities and small towns, a diverse population, thriving arts and culture, and a geographical range from the mountains to the beach…there’s a lot more to Georgia than our peaches. Our state constantly redefines what it means to be southern through the places, perspectives, and people that make Georgia so unique.

There are iconic, bucket list places found only in Georgia. These must-sees are worth a special trip because they can’t be experienced anywhere else, like the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, Georgia Aquarium. And, you won’t believe our natural wonders like Providence Canyon, Driftwood Beach, and the Okefenokee Swamp. These are the signature sights and experiences of our state that we’re proud to share.

With our beautiful landscapes, getting out and active comes naturally in Georgia. There are hikes to be had, lakes to be paddled, and beaches to be strolled. The energy of the outdoors can also be experienced through our variety of sports. Both as participants, at countless public fields and courts, and as fans. The thrill of the game is felt from Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta to minor league ballparks and top-tier collegiate matchups across the state.

Georgia is the intersection of history, current events, and culture. Georgia is home to Indigenous American heritage, Revolutionary War sites, the birthplace of a president, and the cradle of the Civil Rights movement. We’ve hosted the Olympics and multiple Super Bowls, and played the backdrop for movie superheroes and many of TV’s supernatural forces. Our music scene includes the original influencers – Ray Charles, James Brown, the Allman Brothers, and REM – who laid the ground work for today’s top stars Outkast, Lil’ Nas, Zac Brown Band, and Migos, all Georgia-grown. And, whether your artistic preferences include folk art, Southern literature, fashion, or flora, Georgia’s got you covered. Georgia’s cultural patchwork of people and attractions will make you rethink what it means to be Southern.

Come and explore all Georgia has to offer.
