United Airlines & The Hawaiian Islands

Customers have asked us for more ways to get to the Hawaiian Islands and more convenient service, and we’re pleased to announce that, beginning Dec. 20, we will offer an increase of service on 11 routes connecting the continental U.S. and Hawaii, bringing our total to 40 peak-day roundtrips. This will strengthen our position as the Aloha State’s leading carrier to the mainland.

Beginning Dec. 20, we will increase service to the Hawaiian Islands from DEN, ORD, LAX and SFO. We will also maintain our daily nonstop service to HNL (Honolulu) from ORD, IAH, LAX, EWR, SFO, IAD, GUM, NRT and DEN. DEN will serve as our primary interior gateway to Hawaii, connecting more than 90 destinations in the U.S. and Canada. We will also increase service between LAX and ITO (Hilo). We are the only U.S. carrier with nonstop service from LAX to the Island of Hawaii and offer the only nonstop service between ORD and Hawaii. From SFO, we offer more nonstop service to more Hawaiian destinations than any other airline.

“As we celebrate our 70th anniversary in Hawaii this year, today’s announcement carries a very special significance for our customers,” said Sales Americas VP Jake Cefolia. “By adding these flights we are thrilled to make Hawaii more accessible than ever for our customers traveling from the Midwest, Rocky Mountain and West Coast regions.”

Customers traveling in premium cabins on all overnight flights between Hawaii and ORD, DEN, IAH, EWR and IAD will also enjoy 180-degree flat-bed seats for a more relaxing and sleep-enhancing flight with custom-designed duvets and pillows provided by leading luxury specialty store and New York-bred retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
