Posted on: 11 Jan 2019

From bustling metropolis areas to serene lake-side towns, Minnesota has something for everyone. Each city has its own unique charm and features activities and sights found only in Minnesota. Take a look at some of the great places to visit!

Duluth: Luxury Meets the Outdoors

  • Seated on Great Lake Superior and named “Best Town Ever” by Outside Magazine, the vibrant port town of Duluth is a wonderland for outdoor enthusiasts with more than 6,800 acres of city parkland and 178 miles of wooded trails. With 10 local breweries, the North Shore and Duluth offer a superior craft beer scene, boasting the second largest number of breweries in the state. Duluth is also the gateway to the North Shore of Lake Superior. While the East and West Coasts are consistently recognized, the Midwestern Coast is a lesser-known gem where luxury meets the outdoors with some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. The majestic Lake Superior features waves crashing against jagged cliffs crowned with pine forests and countless waterfalls.

Rochester: Healthy, Happy Living

  • Rochester merges a cosmopolitan atmosphere with Midwestern hospitality. Just 90 miles from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Rochester is home to the world-famous Mayo Clinic. Mayo’s Healthy Living Program lets guests discover and experience a one-of-a-kind wellness center focused on resiliency, physical activity and nutrition. The program includes the recently opened Rejuvenate Spa that offers an array of esthetic treatments and integrative therapies designed to improve quality of life.

Grand Marais: Small City on the Big Lake

  • The accolades of this small city on the big lake speak for themselves. Grand Marais, situated right on the North Shore of Lake Superior, has been named America’s Coolest Small Town (Budget Travel Magazine). Nestled between the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior, it is easy to see why so many find inspiration in Grand Marais. There’s something new to discover around every corner. Adventures await as millions of acres of wilderness beckon the outdoor enthusiast every season – each with its own unforgettable beauty. Hiking, kayaking, biking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding and more await on your adventure.

Minneapolis-St. Paul: Cities by Nature

  • Minneapolis-St. Paul is an incredibly diverse area with both upscale, cosmopolitan amenities and natural wonders alike. Trade the city sidewalks for tranquil trails near the striking wilderness waterfall in Minnehaha Park, the powerful St. Anthony Falls near the historic and iconic Stone Arch Bridge, or the Mississippi National River and Recreational Area – a 72-mile national park site. Featuring the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway and the Midtown Greenway along with a plethora of ways to explore on the water, this area is chock-full of adventures for every level of activity during any season of the year. Sports enthusiasts fit right in, with Minneapolis-St. Paul being home to all 5 professional sports teams, in addition to countless college and other professional and amateur teams.
