National Parks in the USA-Some Fun Facts

Posted on: 15 Jul 2015

There are 58 National Parks in America, sporadically located within the 50 states, with some states home to more than one. In fact the two states that have the most National Parks within them are as opposite as you could get in terms of climate, with the states of Alaska and California playing home to 8 National Parks each.

Of the 58 National Parks, some are more well known than others, such as the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, the oldest National Park -Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and the very popular - Great Smokey National Park, which spans over North Carolina and Tennessee. But many others have an interesting fact to share, so if you are travelling to America from Ireland to visit USA National Parks, be sure to look into what each of the parks has to offer.

For example do you want to see the largest National Park - St Elias National Park in Alaska,  visit the National Park that boasts three of the ten highest waterfalls in the world - Yosemite National Park in California or visit the National Park that recorded one of the world's hottest temperatures ever (134 Degrees) back in 1913 - Death Valley National Park.
