DELTA TREBLE TAKES-OFF IN DUBLIN

Delta treble takes-off in Dublin

New service to Boston brings Delta’s Dublin network to three destinations

DUBLIN, May 26, 2017 – Delta Air Lines has completed its treble in Dublin with its third service to the United States. The daily flight to Boston, which will operate throughout the summer, joins Delta’s existing services from the Irish capital – a year-round operation to New York-JFK, plus a summer offering to Atlanta.

Executives from Delta were joined by Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vinent Harrison, for the inaugural celebrations. Events included a cake cutting and ribbon cutting at the gate ahead of the flight’s departure. Delta is using a Boeing 757-200 aircraft on the route, which like all its Ireland services is operated in conjunction with joint venture partners Air France KLM and Alitalia.

“Delta has been flying to Ireland for more than 30 years and it is now Delta’s fifth largest European market,” said Alex Antilla, Delta’s director trans-Atlantic Network. “Boston has long-established ties with Ireland so we are proud to make the city more accessible through this new flight.”

On arrival in Boston, customers have a choice of more than 16 convenient onward connections throughout North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Delta is the leading global carrier at Boston Logan International Airport offering flights to 30 destinations, including 21 in the United States.

According to data from Fáilte Ireland, visitors from North America account for more than 16% of international tourists to Ireland.

The United States is also the third largest market for passenger traffic from Dublin Airport and the largest market outside of Europe. Almost 2.9m passengers travelled on flights from Dublin to North America in 2016, with further growth expected in 2017.

Welcoming Delta’s new Boston service, Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison said “I am delighted to see Delta’s route network going from strength to strength at Dublin Airport. I have no doubt that this route will be a very popular destination due to the strong cultural and historical links that exist between Ireland and Boston. This new daily flight offers further choice and flexibility for both leisure and business passengers. We wish Delta every success with this new summer service.”

Delta’s Dublin-Boston services operate as follows:

Flight DL155 Departs Dublin at 10.25 am -Arrives Boston at 12.45 pm
