Check out the below special offer from Travel Department…

Travel with us down the East Coast of America by train on this 10-night holiday, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy each city with guided tours and free time to explore at your leisure.

We’ll begin our journey in Boston, one of the oldest cities in the US. The city is overflowing with intriguing history and was the scene of many key events during the American Revolution. Our next stop is the Big Apple. A global hub for international commerce, media and entertainment, it is understandable why New York is known as the ‘city that never sleeps’ – it simply doesn’t have the time to!

Next, history enthusiasts will be in their element as we take a tour of Philadelphia’s key highlights like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The final stop on this whirlwind tour is the capital of the USA, Washington DC. A dream for culture lovers, DC is packed with museums, galleries, and monuments.

Pittsburgh Launches the Bike (+) Pledge

Fun, freeing and socially distant, cycling is a great way to explore. Recent data released by Buzzbike saw a 440% surge in demand for two wheels and the bike travel trend is predicted to continue into 2021.

Pittsburgh recently announced the Pittsburgh Bike(+) pledge. A 10-year initiative that aims to give visitors a more affordable transport network with 120 miles of improvements, including bike lanes, trails and low-traffic streets called “neighbourways”. The target is to reduce transportation related emissions by 50% by 2030.

Pittsburgh already has an underground light rail network in place – the T – which is free to ride downtown. And in terms of green spaces, the city has 165 parks, 24 miles of riverfront trails and is in close proximity to Butler County and the Laurel Highlands.
